My first digitally drawn stop motion film (2022). Lonely Monsters was a film about even in the darkest of times, whatever your going through, your not alone. There will always be someone you can confide in and the importance of community. this was just after covid and we where all just getting back into society and I wanted to convey the importance of having people who care for and love you around you. The lonely monsters represent those feelings of isolation and longing for connection, traveling far and wide to find it. But its when they find each other, all those negative feelings of fear, loss and loneliness are destroyed with - corny as it is - love. The connection between the two monsters creates an explosion of flowers and vines, representing the human nature of love and kindness, and there reciprocal longing for deep connection. The explosion fades into a little girl looking up at the audience, hopeful and ready for her own adventure into the world. She is the embodiment of the audience and society's readiness at the time to form interpersonal connections again and see the world. The scene then pans up to the sky where two black crowns sore - the reincarnation of the lonely monsters now free, connected and happy, a prediction for the girl and the audience.
