The Assessment was to create a 3-5 minute short film based on our own creative brief.

Logline:

Willow, an outcast fairy, only wants to be accepted by the other fairies and find a true friend. But when a chaotic fox spirit interferes in the sacred fairy dance, will she be able to protecting the people she loves most?

Inspired by Fredrick McCubbin's Heidelberg paintings, My Film and Photography unit's final assessment asked us to create a short 30s-1min short film. Inspired by something we felt reflected us and who we are.

Wearable Art: Sustainably Sourced Wool and Cotton Thread 2022

In response to exploring the theme of Natural Cycles, I was inspired by the designers Jean Paul Gautier and Claudia Williams use of texture, form and silhouette, as well as the topics of transformation, germination and the damage caused in the environment by industrial developments and the fast fashion industry. Using native Australian floral motifs of billy buttons, wattle, gum leaves and the colour pallet of Australia's southern landscapes, the garment reminds the wearer/view to take a step back and remember the importance of the land we live, to take care of the home we all collectively share.

In this work I wanted to communicate the connection between positive sustainability and fashion. Using re-purposed materials I acquired from op-shops, I developed a design focusing on texture and shape.
